Well, I like to do the occasional panorama shot, and what better place than Tobermory, capital of the Isle of Mull off the west coast of Scotland, somewhere that had been on my 'must visit' list for several years. Caisted An Stalcaire Number of views as of 14th December 2016 = 1400. One of the best known and best loved amongst Scottish castles, Caisted an Stalcaire (its Gaelic name, meaning 'Castle of the Hunter'), perhaps better known as Castle Stalker, stands on a grassy knoll in the midst of seaweed-strewn mud flats on Loch Laich on the Argyll coast. Built in the 15th century by Sir John Stewart, it was later a royal hunting lodge frequented by James V. Ownership of the castle alternated down the centuries between the Stewarts and the Campbells, a history of feuding clans, bloody battles and treacherous murders. *Seil Island* Number of views as of 4th April 2018 = 1240. This shot was taken from just outside the former slate-mining village of Ellenabeich, the main settlement on the Island of Seil. Seil is a small island on the east side of the Firth of Lorn, 10-12 miles south-west of Oban, Argyll, Scotland. Seil has been linked to the Scottish mainland since 1792 when Thomas Telford's Clachan Bridge (otherwise known as the Bridge Over the Atlantic) was built. The slate quarry at Ellenabeich was started by the Campbells of Breadalbane in 1745, and by 1842 new steam powered pumps meant that quarrying could take place to a depth of 250ft below sea level, in a vast pit separated from the sea by just a narrow strip of rock. Gylen Castle Number of views as of 18th October 2018 = 780. Gylen Castle, also known as "The Castle of Fountains" is situated on the Island of Kerrera, off the coast of Argyll, Scotland, and was built by the clan MacDougall in 1587. Gylen sits on top of a rocky promontory, facing south west, with fine views looking out over the Firth of Lorn and across to the Island of Mull. There is a small ferry which takes passengers across to the island from a spot just a couple of miles down the coast from Oban. From there it's a 3 mile walk (6 miles round trip) to Gylen. *Easdale* Number of views as of 8th October 2018 = 3080. Easdale is a small island in the Firth of Lorn, off the west coast of Argyll, Scotland, about 16 miles south of Oban. It is reached by passenger ferry from Seil Island, which is itself connected to the mainland by the 200 year old Clachan Bridge, the "Bridge over the Atlantic":http://www.redbubble.com/people/redhilldigital/art/1730699-2-atlantic-crossing. From the middle of the 17th century to the early 20th century, Easdale was an important centre for slate quarrying. Lismore Lighthouse Number of views as of 11th March 2018 = 4180. Where the Sound of Mull meets the Firth of Lorn, at the southern tip of the island of Lismore, stands this lighthouse, built in 1833 by Robert Stevenson, grandfather of Robert Louis Stevenson, the novelist famous for Treasure Island, Kidnapped and the Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. The lighthouse beacon has a range of 19 miles and is easily seen from Oban about 6 miles distant. The lighthouse was automated in 1965. Date: 19th August 2008. Breakfast time for this baby Highland cow, The baby Highland was enjoying tucking into the hay shortly after sunrise with the stunning backdrop of Kilchurn Castle and surrounding mountains.

A beautiful Golden sunrise at Kilchurn Castle on Loch Awe Argyll. I had planned this shot for a while waiting for the right conditions to get a nice reflection and golden sunlight on the castle and mountains.

Oban Harbour And Town Oban is a resort town within the Argyll and Bute council area of Scotland. Despite its small size, it is the largest town between Helensburgh and Fort William. During the tourist season, the town can have a temporary population of up to over 24,000 people. Oban occupies a setting in the Firth of Lorn. The bay forms a near perfect horseshoe, protected by the island of Kerrera; and beyond Kerrera, the Isle of Mull. This design was inspired by the famous love sign in Philadelphia. I have used two tartan patterns and replaced the letter O in IONA with a heart and the letter I in IONA with the celtic cross. Hope you like it.

Fingal Number of views as of 11th June 2018 = 2460. Fingal is a North American Otter. I would love to be able to report that I took this shot on a Scottish loch somewhere. Well, that's almost true. His home is the Scottish Sealife Sanctuary on Loch Creran on the West Coast of Scotland. The sanctuary's main work is the rescue and repatriation of seal pups, abandoned by their mothers around Scotland's extensive coastline. There is also a well-stocked aquarium and the Otter sanctuary there. Sadly, Fingal's sister and companion Sula died last winter, so he's all alone now (sob), apart from thousands of adoring visitors that is.
