This is a plein-air watercolour painting of Claremont Hill in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, Englad. I have discovered this beautiful street on 14 April 2018. It was first sunny and warm day after a long cold winter to paint outside. So many lovely encounters with passers-by which provided needed support and energy.

The Bunker Hill Covered Bridge is one of two covered bridges left in North Carolina, (the other being the Pisgah Covered Bridge in Randolph county), and is possibly the last wooden bridge in the United States with Haupt truss construction. It was built in 1895 by Andy L. Ramsour in Claremont, North Carolina, and crosses over Lyle creek. The Pomona Valley is a valley to the east of the San Gabriel Valley that extends from easternmost Los Angeles County into the Inland Empire. It's also used to describe the region of Los Angeles County that includes Pomona, Claremont, and La Verne. I wrote a primer and made this map for my series, "California Fool's Gold," in 2011.

Canon Rebel T3i. A nice wooden sign at Conner Park about the Bunker Hill Covered Bridge, just two miles east of Claremont on Route 70. The bridge was owned by the Bolick family until 1985 when they donated it to the Catawba County Historical Association, who restored it in 1994. North Carolina USA.
