Coast Child Tapestries

St Mary's Lighthouse and island lie north of the River Tyne and Whitley Bay on the North Sea coast of England. The lighthouse is no longer in operation and is now a museum and tourist attraction which is only accessible at low tide when the causeway is not under water. The image was taken on a cold December morning shortly after sunrise with the calm conditions enabling the lighthouse to be reflected in the water next to the causeway under a blue sky and shows a mother carrying her child to a rock pool to look for sea creatures.

The first stars appeared in the sky and the dog was watching, curious, the dancing waves. The view of that little girl with her stick revealed to me the beauty and wisdom of a peaceful life…
