The Fish Quay at North Shields is situated at the mouth of the River Tyne in North East England with its origins in the early thirteenth century. The quay is still a working fishing port and the area around is home to numerous eateries and fresh fish merchants.

The pretty fishing village of Marsaxlokk is situated in the South East of Malta and is well known for its harbour full of colourful Luzzu fishing boats and larger vessels. The harbour area also hosts a weekly Sunday market where all manner of household goods are on sale as well as the locally caught fresh fish.
