Taken on a steamy sunrise not far from the border of Kakadu National Park, this is one of my favourite photos out of all my Top End Photography Tours. You have to be quiet and very patient, as the wallabies see you coming a mile away and will take off at the first sudden movement.

The brilliant red of Wangi Falls in the late afternoon. We spent the full day visiting all the waterholes of Litchfield National Park, but saved Wangi Falls for last, knowing that it was likely to be well-lit during golden hour. It was, and the low sun really emphasised the red colour that is so prominent in Litchfield.

This design was inspired by my experiences living in Australia 20+ years ago. I have lived in a number of English speaking places and vacationed in many non English speaking places and I still think the animal, bird and flora life of Australia is amazing and very unique. The dual falls of Florence Falls in the Northern Territory's Litchfield National Park. Even in the middle of dry season, it was full of water and an awesome spot to spend the afternoon -- as evidenced by the many, many people splashing around me and into the pool as I took this photo!

Not sure what the real name of this gorge is - we found it on a walking track in Litchfield National Park near Darwin in the Northern Territory, Australia. It was hot, rough and rocky - but the views were spectacular!

A holiday trip to Darwin included an excursion to Litchfield National Park. This was July - mid Winter - but in the tropical Northern Territory it still managed 32º. The walking trail along Litchfield Gorge was rough and rocky, but was rewarded with this view of a waterfall - framed by a Pandanus.

How terrifying is this?! I had no idea jumping crocs were even a thing until I went to Darwin and saw all the ads for cruises on the Adelaide River (about 1.5hrs drive from Darwin). Essentially, tour boats go out on the Adelaide River, which has around 7,000 crocs living in its 150kms, and hang pork chops on fishing lines to get crocs to jump for them -- and man do they fly for creatures as large as they are! While it was good to see the crocs in a relatively controlled environment -- since I'm terrified of coming across one in the wild -- I'd have to do more research on the effects of these cruises before I went on one again, since it seemed to be very against the usual adage of "don't feed the wild animals."

I knew Darwin was supposed to have some of the best sunsets in Australia, but I was still impressed that the sky fired up this much on my first night there!
