"Your knee is on my neck, I can't breathe, mama ... mama ..." George Floyd asked repeatedly to the police who held him on the ground. The policeman, Derek Chauvin, ignored Floyd's request, which evidently had difficulty breathing. He continued to press his knees against Floyd's neck until Floyd fell silent and did not move. The police told him to get up and get in the car, but Floyd did not react. Floyd was finally taken to the hospital and then declared dead on Monday (5/25/2020). Floyd's death sparked outrage in the United States public. Throughout the country, people were demonstrating.
