Lanthanum Tapestries

La is the periodic table element symbol for the lanthanide lanthanum.

The orbitals are swirling in Storistir to make holiday ornaments! Lanthanum, element 57, is the lead of the Lanthanides, and the largest and most reactive of the rare earth elements. Lanthanum is soft enough to be cut with a knife, and is used in flint, arc lighting, clear glass, optical devices, hydrogen-powered vehicles, and electronic devices.

The Lanthanides include Lanthanum, Cerium, Praseodymium, Neodymium, Promethium, Samarium, Europium, Gadolinium, Terbium, Dysprosium, Holmium, Erbium, Thulium, Ytterbium, Lutetium

It's no coincidence that these lens flares occur - it is a matter of precisely controlling parameters to create such a subject matter... Granted some lenses produce much more stark - even brilliant lens flare, yet - it is still a matter of controlling the amount of light entering the lens and angle of incidence in particular... This image I have called "The Soviet Star" although the sun doesn't belong to the Russians... the lens which created such rainbow colours was and is now mine!!! :D I believe it is the parameters of the lens and the multi-coating which creates such characteristics - accentuated in post ~ of course! :P Sony A7
