The Treasury was a hotel and casino located on 115 E Tropicana Ave off the Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The hotel originally opened in 1973 as a Howard Johnsons. It has been the Paradise Hotel and Casino, the 20th Century, Hooters, the Pacifica and is currently the Oyo. The Treasury was the only place in Las Vegas to be targeted towards the LGBT community.

The sign was designed by Betty Willis at the request of Ted Rogich, a local salesman, who sold it to Clark County, Nevada. The sign is located in the median at 5100 Las Vegas Boulevard South, north of the historic stone pillars of the old McCarran Airport on the east side, and across from the Bali Hai Golf Club and the (closed) Klondike Hotel & Casino on the west side. The Pioneer Club building was built in 1918, and was originally a restaurant. Pioneer Club Las Vegas was a casino that opened in 1942 and was located in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada, at 25 East Fremont Street. It ceased operating as a casino in 1995, the same year the Fremont Street Experience was completed. Although the Pioneer Club no longer operates as a casino, Vegas Vic the 40 ft neon cowboy lives on. In 1947 Las Vegas chamber of Commerce hired a West-Marquis firm which invented the Fremont Street Cowboy Vegas Vic and his friendly "Howdy Podner" greeting.

Until the hotel's opening on May 24, 1955, black entertainers performing in Las Vegas were denied access to casino and hotel dining areas and were forced to seek overnight accommodations in black boarding houses. Black tourism was non-existent. Its short life had a lasting impact. When civil rights activists scheduled a march on March 26, 1960, to protest racial discrimination in Las Vegas resorts, hotel owners, city and state officials, hurriedly set up a meeting with NAACP president, Dr. James McMillan and other black leaders at the Moulin Rouge. Most of the hotel owners agreed to integrate their establishments and the planned march was canceled

Vegas World was a space-themed casino and hotel on Las Vegas Boulevard in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was owned and operated by Bob Stupak, and was also signed as Bob Stupak's Vegas World. Stupak initially opened a small casino, Bob Stupak's World Famous Million-Dollar Historic Gambling Museum and Casino, on the property in 1974, but it was destroyed in a fire later that year. It had 100 rooms, was 3 stories tall with a glass elevator, heated pool, color TV in every room, coffee shop, drug store, steak house and cocktail lounge.

The resort included a 31-floor tower, inspired by the design of the Space Needle tower in Seattle. Frank Caroll, the project's original owner, purchased the property in 1961. Billionaire Howard Hughes, through Hughes Tool Company, purchased the Landmark in 1969

The Red Barn opened in 1958 as an antique store near Tropicana Avenue and Maryland Parkway. In 1961 the store was converted into a club that was the first coffeehouse in Las Vegas and a popular hangout among local college students. The Red Barn hosted straight patrons during the day, but after midnight it catered to the gay community. By 1972 it was exclusively a gay club, one of only a few in Las Vegas. The Red Barn closed in March 1988, and the abandoned building burned down later that year. The only remaining piece of there renowned property The Red Barn Marker is its neon martini class signage, which is now part of the Neon Museum's collection

The Big Wheel became the Centerfold Casino from 1975-1977. Their sign advertised "Girls! Girls! Naked But Nice". I'm not quite sure how naked girls were allowed to work in a casino (given the Nevada Gaming Commission's rules prohibiting such a thing). According to some sources, the Centerfold was strictly a 'topless dancing strip-club'

The Thunderbird opened on September 2, 1948, with 79 hotel rooms, a casino, and a bar. The cost of construction exceeded $2 million.The Thunderbird was the fourth resort to open on the Las Vegas Strip, and was located diagonally across the street from the El Rancho Vegas. It was named after the mythical Thunderbird creature, and the entrance featured two large, neon Thunderbird statues. The Thunderbird was considered a luxurious resort, and a Southwestern/Navajo theme was featured throughout the property, including portraits of American Indians.

Adjoining Wilbur Clark's Desert Inn Hotel & Country Club, named after the famous French resort, was one of the more glamorous of Las Vegas' Motels Opened 7/3/58 on Desert Inn. Demolished 1/6/94 for the widening of Desert Inn Rd. 71 large, elegantly furnished units with dressing rooms, queen size beds and large family units fit for a king, at low prices to suit every man's purse, plus refrigerated air-conditioning and a heated swimming pool. The Algiers Hotel was an Arabian/Persian-themed hotel located at 2845 South Las Vegas Boulevard on the Las Vegas Strip in Winchester, Nevada. The Algiers was opened in 1953, as a 110-room sister property to the adjacent Thunderbird hotel and casino. The Algiers was noted for mostly retaining its original design throughout its operation, giving it the appearance of an older Las Vegas hotel. In 1991, the property was earmarked for possible condemnation because the hotel's construction resulted in the misalignment of nearby streets, resulting in increased traffic.

Barbary Coast was a hotel and casino located between the Flamingo and Bally's on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The hotel was owned by Boyd Gaming and was built by Michael Gaughan in 1979. The hotel was closed to be renamed to Bill's Gambling Hall and Saloon. The Barbary Coast was home of Drai's After Hours, a restaurant nightclub that is still open to this day.

The Holiday International Casino (1977-1987) was an old school hotel and casino located at 300 North Main Street in Las Vegas Nevada. The addresses of 200 N Main Street and 300 N Main Street have occupied a few casinos over the past 40 years. It is one of the areas of Downtown Las Vegas that has a lot of history to it. What started this location’s casino history was the Holiday International Casino back in 1978 when it opened to the general public.
