Glover was born in Houghton-on-Hill, Leicestershire, England, and initially trained as a painter in London. He gained recognition for his landscape paintings, which often depicted the picturesque English countryside. In 1805, at the age of 38, Glover decided to seek new artistic opportunities and immigrated to Australia with his wife and family.
