The fish quay at North Shields lies quiet and still on a calm morning after the hustle and bustle of the market in the early hours. A number of fishing vessels are berthed in the safety of the quay which is near the mouth of the River Tyne in North East England

The Fish Quay at North Shields is situated at the mouth of the River Tyne in North East England with its origins in the early thirteenth century. The quay is still a working fishing port and the area around is home to numerous eateries and fresh fish merchants.

A digital sketch of the Marina at Conwy, North Wales. Beautifully situated, this marina looks over the estuary of the River Conwy to Deganwy and the high ground surrounding Llandudno - notably the Great Orme. Conwy itself is steeped in history evidenced in the mighty castle standing guard over the town - a world heritage site. Here though, boats sit quietly at anchor or tied up at the jetties, their shapes reflected in the calm water.

Clovelly, North Devon, England Number of views as of 10th April 2018 = 600. A steep, cobbled street (originally built using pebbles from the beach and far too steep for motor vehicles) leads 'down-along' between white-painted cottages to the small harbour at Clovelly on the North Devon coast, one of my favourite places in Devon. The village has no individually-owned houses, the whole village being owned and maintained by a single family. Once a bustling fishing port, bringing in herring and mackerel, the Clovelly area was also rife with smuggling, wrecking and piracy. The quay dates from the 14th century and the Red Lion Inn (left) from the 18th. Date: 7th April 2010. Official Clovelly web site
