Red Dawn Rising

The legend of the phoenix. A mythical bird that lives for an eternity in cycles of 500 to 1000 years, ending every life cycle by igniting in flames and turning to ash, only to be reborn from the very ashes itself. It's rebirth as a stronger and more powerful entity. Stories of the phoenix have been told as far back as ancient Egyptian times. This is a very personal piece. It's one that I have needed to create for a long time. It's also one that I didn't know how to create, or even if I would be able to. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Zandatsu featuring the cyborg Raiden AKA Jack the Ripper. Known now for the goofy MEME culture it inspired, this spinoff from the Metal Gear Solid franchise was a great looking videogame for the PlayStation 3. I hope to raise awareness of this game again, so that we can get more from Kojima!

One of our local Chiltern red kites taking off from the bell cote of an old disused church, lit by the late afternoon sun. The red kite (milvus milvus) was, not long ago, on the edge of extinction in England but a highly successful breeding and re-introduction programme has seen them flourish and they can frequently be seen soaring and circling above.

Formed in 1987, Vengeance Rising was a Christian thrash metal band from Los Angeles, California. The group was a groundbreaking as a Christian band, but were also one of the best bands to come out of the Sanctuary Christian metal movement of the '80s. The band released four albums, giving Christians a thrash metal band they apparently didn't know they wanted, but Vengeance Rising is probably best known for the lead singer turning from Christianity to Satanism and then to atheism. The band's history has been described as one of the most entertaining and bizarre stories in the realm of heavy metal, a statement that few would dispute.
