Camelot Music was founded in Massillon, Ohio, in 1956. In 1965 the company opened its first retail store, in Canton, Ohio. As of 1998, the company operated 455 stores in 37 states nationwide. Camelot Music received the recording industry's prestigious N.A.R.M. (National Association of Recording Merchandisers) Retailer of the Year Award an unprecedented six times. Camelot Music, by all industry standards, was clearly the nation's leading mall music retailer. In late 1998, Camelot was acquired and consolidated.

Represent your lost memories with this 1980s style Rolling Acres Mall logo shirt. Rolling Acres mall opened in Akron, Ohio with Sears and 21 stores on August 6, 1975. JCPenney opened a year later as a second anchor. A new wing was added in 1977, including a third anchor store, Montgomery Ward. Further expansion in 1978 added a new two-story wing called the Promenade, which included a food court called “Prom-N-Eat” (later renamed “Picnic Place”) and local chain O’Neil’s as a fourth anchor. The mall was foreclosed in June 2016. As of October 2016, demolition of the mall had begun with full demolition on the property expected to be complete by October 2017.

The Wiz, also known at times as Nobody Beats the Wiz, was a chain of electronic stores in the northeastern United States, located primarily in New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. Some locations were in Canada as well. The chain was founded by four brothers, Douglas, Lawrence, Marvin, and Stephan Jemal, in New York City in 1977. Later, it officially changed its name to its well-known advertising slogan, "Nobody Beats The Wiz." During the early-to-mid 1990s, the chain was a major sponsor for all local NY sports franchises and had a significant television advertising presence during local sports events. In 1998, after having expanded from roughly 20 stores to over 80 stores in less than a year, the chain filed for bankruptcy.

Price Club was a warehouse store chain, founded by Sol Price in San Diego, California. Price devised the Price Club concept in 1975 after being forced out of FedMart, another retail chain he founded. Price and a few of his friends put up $2.5 million in capital to open the first Price Club on July 12, 1976, in San Diego. Price Club would eventually merge with one of its competitors and the combined company would go on to become the global leader in the wholesale shopping club space with more than 800 warehouses worldwide as of 2021.

Bradlees Department Store, more commonly known as Bradlees, was a discount department store chain based in Braintree, Massachusetts, which operated primarily in the Northeastern United States. Bradlees sold various retail items in its stores, including clothing, jewelry, health care, beauty products, footwear, furniture, electronics, housewares, and bedding. At its peak in 2000, Bradlees operated over 105 stores in seven states across the Northeast, with close to 10,000 employees. The chain went through Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2000, with all of its stores eventually closed by March 15, 2001.
