Sand Storm Tapestries

Launched on 28 February 2011 at the Geneva Motor Show, five months after its initial unveiling in Sant'Agata Bolognese, the vehicle, internally codenamed LB834, was designed to replace the then-decade-old Murciélago as the new flagship model. The car's shape borrows heavily from Lamborghini's limited-edition Reventón and their Estoque concept car.

This image was taken from the beach at Blyth in Northumberland on a morning with the storm clouds gathering in the east over Seaton Sluice and St Mary's Island. There is just the possibility that the strong sun might burn away the cloud, but probably not before a downpour.

Stormy sea aglow, Sunset paints the tempest's woe, Nature's grand tableau.

Strong winds and rough seas at the beginning of February produced some spectacular sights as the waves crashed against the lighthouse on the end of the pier protecting the mouth of the River Blyth and the entrance to the Port of Blyth harbour in Northumberland. This is a re-work of an existing image providing a larger file size and it is also available in monochrome.

South Haven Lighthouse is in the United States in the State of Michigan. It is located on the western side of the state on the shores of Lake Michigan. This shot was taken on a stormy fall evening about a half hour before sunset.

Camel trip in the desert

As I was driving back to Brisbane from the Sunshine Coast, I could see that I was driving straight into a storm by all the lightning crackling off to the west. So, when I reached the Bribie Island turnoff, I took it, hoping that I'd get a good view back towards the mainland from the island. I definitely got that view -- but only for a short time before it started raining (and before I got a bit too scared by the idea of standing with a large metal object on a beach in a lightning storm)!

This art is inspired by a real place in our world and represents a sandstorm in the scorching Sahara desert.
