The sculpture of Tommy 1101 a First World War soldier, sits, head bowed on the seafront of Seaham Harbour. Before him, is a large poppy made from pebbles taken from the local beach and painted by children. Here the image has been converted to black and white and the colour re-introduced to the pebbles to show the effect of the poppy. It really is such an unusual and intricate building. I've not visited it before so it was great to see it properly this time. I loved the old clock which stood near it too.
