A very British thing broadcast on the radio four times a day since 1911( with a couple of little gaps for the World Wars. It always has the same format and is no more than 380 soothing mellifluous words. Loved by millions who have no need for the actual information, but love the delivery.It was actually debated in parliament when the BBC wanted to move the late night broadcast.(They didn't in response to the public outcry!) A specially made marbled paper with a sea spray theme,with little polka dot snips of the 31 coastal areas covered and a sample forecast. It doesn't get a lot more British than this!
