Timeline of Lantean ships

Inatori Bay is a bay located in the Izu Peninsula, in the Shizuoka prefecture of Japan. The area is known for its beautiful scenery, hot springs, and traditional Japanese culture. Inatori Bay is famous for its onsen (hot springs) resorts. The area is home to many natural hot spring baths, which are believed to have therapeutic properties. Visitors can enjoy soaking in the hot springs, which are known to be relaxing and rejuvenating. There are several onsen resorts in the area, which offer a range of accommodations, from traditional Japanese inns to modern hotels. Inatori Bay is also known for its scenic beauty.

RMS Titanic was a British passenger liner, operated by the White Star Line, which sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on 15 April 1912 after striking an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton, UK, to New York City, United States. Of the estimated 2,224 passengers and crew aboard, more than 1,500 died, making it the deadliest sinking of a single ship up to that time. It remains the deadliest peacetime sinking of a superliner or cruise ship. The disaster drew public attention, provided foundational material for the disaster film genre, and has inspired many artistic works.

Burn the Ships - For King and country fan art

In 1839, Samuel Cunard was awarded the first British transatlantic steamship mail contract, and the next year formed the British and North American Royal Mail Steam-Packet Company in Glasgow with shipowner Sir George Burns (whose descendants took the title of Lord Inverclyde) together with Robert Napier, the famous Scottish steamship engine designer and builder, to operate the line's four pioneer paddle steamers on the Liverpool–Halifax–Boston route. For most of the next 30 years, Cunard held the Blue Riband for the fastest Atlantic voyage. However, in the 1870s Cunard fell behind its rivals, the White Star Line and the Inman Line. To meet this competition, in 1879 the firm was reorganised as the Cunard Steamship Company, Ltd.

According to legend, Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés gave this order to his men as they landed on the beaches to begin their conquest of the Aztec empire in 1519: Burn the ships. He wanted his men to realize that they had no opportunity to retreat, so they had to give this fight everything they had. Failure was not an option and winning this battle just became that much more important.

The Great Lakes Engineering Works (GLEW) was a leading shipbuilding company with a shipyard in Ecorse, Michigan, that operated between 1902 and 1960. Within three years of its formation, it was building fifty percent of the tonnage of all ships in the Great Lakes. During World War II, GLEW was commissioned by Pittsburgh Steamship Company and the U.S. Maritime Commission to build twenty-one ore freighters. Its innovations included the first self-unloader freighter, SS Wyandotte. GLEW is best known for its construction of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald.
