Mach GoGoGo was originally serialized in print in Shueisha's 1966 Shōnen Book. It was released in tankōbon book form by Sun Wide Comics and later re-released in Japan by Fusosha. Adapted into anime by Tatsunoko Productions, its 52 episodes aired on Fuji TV from April 1967 to March 1968. In the US, the show aired in syndication at approximately the same time. The anime was later re-broadcast on Tokyo MX from July 1 to September 25, 2008.

Hurst Hemi Under Glass is the name given to a series of exhibition drag racing cars campaigned by Hurst Performance between 1965 and 1975. Each wheelstander was based on the current Plymouth Barracuda for the corresponding model year. The car was so named because the fuel injected Chrysler Hemi engine was placed under the Barracuda's exceptionally large rear window. The result of the rearward weight transfer was a "wheelie" down the length of the drag strip. The Hemi Under Glass was developed by Hurst Corporation to showcase their products in the A/FX class - precursor to funny cars. In 1965, George Hurst hired Wild Bill Shrewsberry of Mansfield, OH, an accomplished drag racer who had raced for both Mickey Thompson and Jack Crissman.

In 1982's Six Pack, Kenny Rogers plays Brewster (Brew) Baker, an itinerant racing-car driver. Notwithstanding Brew's nickname, the six pack of the title refers to cute kids, not to beers. Cute kids who are orphans, whose specialties are either stripping or repairing racing cars, depending on how they feel about the owner. The kids steal Brew's engine when the film begins, but pretty soon he becomes a father figure to them and they fall into working as his pit crew. It's about as '80s as they come and super family friendly, but a good watch nonetheless.

One of the longest lasting animated cartoon characters, Felix the Cat, created by animator Otto Messmer, made his 1919 theatrical debut as one of several cartoon components in Paramount Screen Magazine split-reels, then graduated to a standalone series in 1922. He was the star of an experimental TV broadcast in 1928, and the basis for a classic (but unauthorized!) wall-clock design. The works​ reflect on the struggling individual in contemporary society. The salmon pink newspaper serves both as background and foreground text. The collages and paintings tell stories of anxiety, mental turmoil and suffering and can be understood as a comment on today’s pressures in society. As a whole this body of work represents “Weltschmerz”, the realisation one’s own weaknesses are caused by the inappropriateness of the world.​
