Tintagel Tapestries

Tintagel is another wonderful Cornish site, rumoured to be the site of King Arthur's legendary castle of Camelot. It certainly is a magical place, steeped in history and mystery. This is the view from the castle down onto the beach

The ruins of Tintagel Castle in Cornwall England, UK. In the 12th century Geoffrey of Monmouth named this location as the place where the legendary King Arthur was conceived. The castle was built in the 1230s by Richard Earl of Cornwall.

This is an image of the Tintagel Old Post Office. Calling it a post office is perhaps a bit of a misnomer as it served as such for just a few years during Victorian times. The red post box attests to that with its "VR" marking. but pre-dates that era by about 500 years. Today, it is owned by the National Trust and preserved by them for future generations. I've been to Tintagel, which is in Cornwall, England, several times and have always been fascinated by this unique old building. I captured this image on a cool, blustery day. The turbulent sky looked so right as a backdrop.
