This window belongs to the grand Victorian manor of Tyntesfield in Somerset, UK. Like this one, all the windows have wooden planks to prevent the sun light to damage the original 19th century wall paper and furniture in the rooms.

This unusual window is a wonderful example of Czech Art Nouveau; it can be seen in the Municipal House in Prague, the Obecni Dum, where concerts are taking place and where there is also a very elegant café, allegedly the most beautiful café of Prague.

Window of Truro Cathedral in Cornwall, England. It was the first cathedral to be built on a new site since Salisbury was started in 1220. Two foundation stones were laid on 20th May 1880 by the Duke of Cornwall (later Edward VII). As well as the traditional NE corner foundation stone there was also another one laid as an act of faith. The Victorians adapted the classic pointed arches of the gothic style and used modern building techniques to create this truly impressive building.

The Basel Town Hall /German: Rathaus) is a five hundred years old building dominating the market square in Basel, Switzerland. The Town Hall houses the meetings of the Cantonal Parliament as well as the Cantonal Government of the canton of Basel-Stadt. The Great Council Chamber at one time featured a series of frescoes painted in 1522 by Hans Holbein the Younger, however these have mostly been lost. "Rathaus" literally means "council house" while the term "Roothus" in the local Basel German dialect means both "council house" but also sounds like "red house", a pun with reference to the red sandstone facade of the building. These are images of random doors and windows that I came across while walking the streets of Comayagua in Honduras. I get intrigued by the richness of the colors, by the lack of colors, by the shoddy paint jobs, by the fact that most of them don’t even look structurally sound (some don’t even have straight lines). And there lies the beauty of most of what I encountered in this country. And BTW, all of these structures are occupied either by a family or by a local business. All images are taken with a Canon 5D III (full frame) and a Canon 7D II (crop frame) using a variety of Canon L-Series lenses, and Tamron and Sigma pro-line lenses; processed in RAW with ACR, PSC, Photomatix, and a variety of other imaging software. This window is part of the Egyptian House in Penzance, Cornwall, UK. In 1834 John Lavin, a bookseller of Penzance bought two cottages in Chapel Street for £396 and proceeded to raise the height of the building and to add to its street front the present remarkable pseudo-Egyptian facade. The Royal Arms on the building suggest that it was complete before the accession of Queen Victoria in June 1837. John Lavin sold maps, guides and stationery in the Egyptian House, but his main business was in minerals which he bought, sold and exhibited here. Today the first floor is a holiday appartment.
