The tank destroyer battalion was a type of unit used by the United States Army during World War II. The Churchill tank was Great Britain's entry level heavy tank at the beginning of WW2. it was designed before the war and draws heavily on what was learned about tank warfare during WW1. Think Armour, flat sides and high tracks that could cross trenches was the doctrine at the time and so such the Churchill suffered from having no angled faces capable of deflecting enemy fire.
