Shine a light on Seaton Sluice Tapestry
Seaton Sluice Tapestry
designed and sold by Violaman
A 'sewer gas destructor lamp' near the harbour at Seaton Sluice in Northumberland on the North East coast of England. These lamps were invested in the 1890s and are Grade II listed structures. They were erected in Victorian times to take away the methane gas build-up in underground sewers. Useful and beautiful at the same time!
