At the end of a track that features some great wildflowers in spring is this great sight. After a bit of rain, there were some wide & deep puddles on the dirt track leading to the Rock. I was _reasonably_ confident that the sand & rocks under the puddles meant we wouldn't get bogged. I saw a few cars parked on the edge of the puddle zone on the way back that indicated that others weren't quite as confident as me. Hanging Rock State Park

Located near Blackheath in the Blue Mountains National Park, New South Wales, Australia. The rock hangs into the Grose Valley. This spot is 2 hours drive west of Sydney & then an hours walk to this site (quicker if you have a mountain bike). The area is not fenced or well signposted. You need good hiking boots because of the steep surfaces & loose gravel. I wouldn't recommend taking children there. At the end of Ridgewell Rd there is a car park & the walk takes you to Baltzer Lookout. The Rock is visible from the lookout but you need to climb down the cliff to get a good view. That's Hanging Rock in the Blue Mountains National Park in New South Wales, Australia. This National Park is 1 to 2 hours west of Sydney, Australia. Hanging Rock is on the left & on the right is the cliff face of Baltzer's Lookout. It's about an hours walk on the wide track to this spot unless you take a mountain bike. Yesterday I waited, not so patiently, while some wispy clouds managed to cover the sun a little so I could get this shot. I was very popular with the flies while I waited.
