This design was inspired by the giant Harakeke Flax plants and their mighty black seeds in Auckland, New Zealand.

Photographed in mid-winter is this close-up image of a cluster of milkweed seed pods, resembling a bird in flight. Illuminated by both direct & reflected sunlight from newly fallen snow, the feathery, gossamer-stranded seeds still cling to their graceful dried pods.
