A hexagram is a figure composed of six stacked horizontal lines (爻 yáo), where each line is either Yang (an unbroken, or solid line), or Yin (broken, an open line with a gap in the center). There are 64 hexagrams in all, each representing an archetypal situation in life. Butterflies symbolically represent the soul and transformation and of course the Yin and Yang symbol ( Taijitu ) represents paradox. light & dark, male & female and our opportunity to find harmony. So for me this design is about leaning into the energy all around us, to find balance within and to grow - to extend our consciousness beyond the borders of our understanding. It’s about sitting quietly in the moonlight and silently meditate. It is a blend of several philosophies , a bit Tao, a bit Wiccan and very mystical.

I Ching (Book of Change) Hexagram 55 is named 豐 (fēng), "Abounding". Other variations include "abundance" and "fullness". Its inner trigram is ☲ (離 lí) radiance = (火) fire, and its outer trigram is ☳ (震 zhèn) shake = (雷) thunder.

The lake symbolizes exchange between people, the pool of wealth, knowledge or concord between them and the way they mirror each other. It is is a symbol of fertile growth and of new life. Lake has a joyous personality, its direction is west.

Earth teaches us to persevere even when there is no goal visible, when nothing seems possible. The Earth is yielding, submissive, nurturing and gentle, as well as sturdy. Earth has a receptive personality, its direction is southwest.

Heaven is creativity, pure yang, energy, light, generation and regeneration, purity, spirit and transcendence. It is the home of gods and the origin of all things. Heaven has a creative personality, its direction is northwest.

Yin Yang is known to represent balance and harmony in Taoist philosophy. The unity of opposites that is seen in all areas of nature - day/night, male/female, material/spiritual, tension/ease, pleasure/pain and so on.
