The first thing I noticed as I decided upon this shot was the lines of tidal currents in the sea and because there was very little cloud in the sky on such a beautifully fine day - I decided to make Twr Mawr (the big tower), most often photographed by landscape photographers... the lesser of the subject matter and placed it in the upper left hand corner of the shot. I came down here in my teens, before I even studied and started with photography, to sample mussels and the associated fauna of them, and as this is a classic example of an exposed rocky coastal shoreline - which we often find around Anglesey - I decided to reflect on this and make it - the prominent subject matter... "The Rocky Coastal Shore Of Llanddwyn"

The iconic lighthouse at Llanddwyn island. Photographed extensively by landscape photographers from all over the World! A break in the weather on our walk, left me with a chance of shooting with good light, just before the sun was setting. Captured using the relatively new Nokia X20 using 48 megapixel technology and working with the image in post, I decided to accentuate the cool blue tones and a touch of magenta adding more depth to the image...

Not worrying too much about hyperfocal distance by focussing on the closest subject matter and working with the benefits of shooting with full frame camera properly for the very first time on photoshoot and with a 'varifocal throw' vintage lens... I worked into the light and stopped right down for some silhouette effect and in doing so worked in post for this interpretation. A depiction of the action of kite surfing across to Llanddwyn Island Anglesey.

I don't often do portraiture nor ask people to pose for a photograph... but this chap just looked so serene and fixed on his discipline - sat with his bare feet in the pebbles that I felt compelled to ask for this photograph... to which he kindly obliged... Thanks to Ahmed from Egypt.

A wide panoramic sees an ocean vista along the trail of those seeking spirituality and in holy times - christianity; often leaving offerings at the shrine of Santes Dwynwen - the 'patron saint of lovers'. The path leads to the lighthouse, a wonderful beautiful walk...

A friend mentioned just how busy llanddwyn Island was today with people and that it was difficult to take a picture with so many people around... I decided to work with it and include the people and this was the abstract result...
