I loved the way the sun glows through this old man's beard. This bearded plant is actually the remains of a clematis after it has flowered and it is also known as Traveller's Joy. Over the last year of walking I have seen many bushes of this clematis and it always makes me happy to see the fluffy pom coms sitting there, so I guess it is a little bit of a traveller's joy!

Clematis Aristata - Old Man's Beard - at Blackburn Lake reserve, Victoria, Australia. This climber had grown up into a neighbouring tree, and along several meters of fence. The "beard" refers to the seed stage, not the pretty flowers!
