High above New York City looking towards the Brooklyn Bridge. From the top of One World Trade Center, the view was breathtaking. I felt as though I was on top of the world, gazing down at the busy city below. The endless rows of towering skyscrapers, honking yellow taxis, and bustling streets all seemed so small from up here. As I looked out towards the Manhattan Bridge, I felt a sense of awe and wonder at the sheer magnitude of the city. It was as if I was seeing New York for the very first time, and I couldn't help but feel grateful to be alive and able to experience such a beautiful sight. One World Trade Center (aka One WTC or Freedom Tower) is the main building of the new World Trade Center complex in Lower Manhattan, New York City. The building is 1,776 feet tall and opened in late 2014. This colourful and textured painting has a unique dimensional quality achieve by abstract and acyclic architectural buildings. Famous landmarks emerge from abstract marks and thickly applied paint. The old against the new buildings- textures and differing levels colours and tones is what I find most interesting and how these play against each other to produce an interesting and amazing skyline view of city proportions.

Manhattan seen from Dumbo

A late start the day before caused me to drive late into the night. At some point I needed a break and it took stopping at 4 different motels to finally get a room. Woke up the next day and pushed on to get to the city late in the afternoon. I wasn't sure what to expect. As I walked around the memorial so many people were stopping at the names. Some were crying some just taking it in. I will remember the old man with a Turban who was handing out flowers for visitors to place on the names of the lost. It brought tears to my eyes. Here stands a man who many years earlier people would blame for what happened on this day. He stands in peace handing out flowers for us to lay on the grave of the many lost.
