Scampi Pillows

This is a wholesome bonding moment between two shrimps camping. Wait is shrimp plural for shrimp? Like fish? Anyway it kind of reminds me of something else. A popular shrimp dish...shrimp scampi. But this is not that. The shrimp are very much alive and well having the time of their lives. Just set the scene: two shrimp are camping out and roasting marshmallows over a campfire. They are on a weekend getaway from the ocean. That is what life is all about.

Langoustine (Nephrops norvegicus), coloured X-ray. This crustacean is also known as the Norway lobster or Dublin Bay prawn. It feeds on other crustaceans and fish. It lives in shallow burrows in the sediment of off-shore waters from Iceland to Portugal and the Mediterranean Sea. It is caught using trawlers and creels (lobster traps) and eaten as scampi. It grows up to 24 centimetres long.

Who knew that Shrimps could be this adorable?

New Yorker Hank Soloff opened The Coach and Six in 1962 as what many consider to be the first fine dining establishment in Atlanta. It was known for the celebrities, the cheese toast and the shrimp scampi, but all told, the entire menu was exquisite, and you couldn't go wrong with a night at The Coach and Six. Hank’s wife, Beverlee, operated The Coach and Six after he died unexpectedly in 1974. The restaurant changed hands a few times, but in 1997 it closed for good after the building was sold, and yet, even decades later, Atlantans still reminisce about how unbelievably good the place was. From first dates and prom night dinners to anniversary celebrations and places to propose, The Coach and Six was THE place to go.
