The quayside at Bosham, West Sussex in England, lying next to the village green and the church. This image was captured just as the sky was clearing after a dull morning. The village itself has a long history, appearing in the Bayeaux Tapestry where it shows Harold Godwinson and his followers riding towards the church and, even further back when King Canute had a palace nearby. Bosham harbour is part of Chichester Harbour, an important coastal conservation area.

All that remains of the West Pier in Brighton. Brighton's West Pier was closed to the public in 1975. Sadly a huge storm in 2002 and two arson attacks in 2003 reduced it to ruins and it has gradually been re-claimed by the sea ever since. It still casts an eerie beauty on the seafront though.

Brighton's West Pier. The pier was opened in 1866 and was the first pier to be Grade 1 listed in England and Wales but is now derelict. The pier closed to the public in 1975 and gradually fell in to disrepair and was ravaged by two separate fires in March & May 2003, both thought to be arson.
