POLICE STORY IV: FIRST STRIKE offers a more globe-trotting, James Bond-inspired action adventure with added comedic tones. But whereas Bond relied on high-tech gadgets and beautiful women, Chan bumbles from one misadventure to another with nothing but his wits and fast reflexes. But of course Jackie is never truly "unarmed", as he famously utilizes whatever is available to complete his mission. Be that a pair of stilts, a step ladder, a snowboard, a sports car, or even a live shark.
