Color and texture

One of the great things i have learned from my fellow photographers is how to look at things from all angles. This is an office building along 355 in Rockville, Maryland, a few blocks from where I work. I posted another shot I took that morning as well (link below) but the take-home lesson is look and think about what you see. This one was color and repetition in a reflection, but I think it makes a good urban abstract. Other pedestrians just hurried past - my walk to work takes longer, now. Leica D-Lux 6

On Olmsted Island at the C&O Canal in Potomac, Maryland. This is from April of 2014 -- taking a little break from doing the 365 type project, which was indeed a challenge. Realized how many interesting images I have on my hard drive that I have not even explored. This is a great place to walk and do photography -- this photo is a reminder of the impermanence of things -- over years, the lichen and rain and wind will erode this down to tiny bits of sand, and thence on to the Atlantic Ocean.
