Everybody loves Quail. They're the cutest.

I love Navajo blankets (I have two in my home that I got from my grandpa). I also love the southwest art motif of the noble Indian staring off into the distance, wrapped in one of those blankets (although it’s at the high risk of over-romanticizing an entire people-group). So, I made painting with a space cowgirl wearing a blanket. Maybe we'll all be wearing space helmets in the future when the air isn't fit to breath and the landscape is technicolor.

This is "Sister Superior" according to my little brother, Ryan Montoya, whose photo I used as a reference. I named it "Temple Spire" so I guess whoever originally named it also felt it held spiritual weight. Whatever it's called, it's a gorgeous tower and I loved painting it! Great for practice painting rocks.
