World War 2 had it's share heroes, one of the most colourful is Corporal Wotjek. Rescued as a cub by the Polish Army during WW2 and stayed with their regiment, fed baby formula in a vodka bottle. He was so loved that, when told they couldn't transport no military personal or equipment, they enrolled him as an armoury officer. He carried anti-tank shells to long range guns, ate cigarettes (even when lit), drank beer and, while foraging the soldiers bags for fruit, found a Russian spy in camp, scared him right into the arms of the soldiers nearby. He was promoted twice in his time there and, after the war, moved to Scotland with two of his friends. He lived out his days playing football and eating honey and jam with the locals.
