I first heard of The Specials when I was in high school. At that point, the band had been split for years, and the last cd to have dropped from them was The Singles and I bought it. "Gangsters" has to be my favorite on the record, but it isn't the only one...no way. "Maggie's Farm" is just wackyland cool, but "Friday Night, Saturday Morning" is smooth and to be a little corny, SKALICIOUS...haha, all jokes aside, you have to love The Specials, and this listener friendly album is a must have for a true diverse music fan.

Mod Mod Ranglin is a fusion of Ska and Caribbean instrumentals by Ernest Ranglin recorded in 1966 while Ska was changing towards Rocksteady.
