Almost everyone with an invisible illness knows the pain of people not believing it's real, and this design was made to poke fun at those doubters. Compete with zebra stripes, since zebras are used as a symbol for Ehler Danlos Syndrome, and rare illness

In some medical schools students are told "if you hear hoofbeats don't look for zebras", meaning don't go looking for rare illnesses or diseases. Well, for those of us who do have a rare condition, like Ehler Danlos Syndrome, that doesn't work. And so the zebra has become a symbol for EDS and other rare illnesses. Represent your disability while poking a bit of fun at the doctors who were too busy searching for horses they missed the stripes.

This design features a beautiful unicorn tearing it up in a wheelchair, to represent that magical feeling us disabled people get when we arrive somewhere and find that it is actually accessible. A bit of a diversion from my usual style, but still one of my favourite designs to date, because who doesn't love unicorns and accessibility.

There are a few things that Scotland is known for, apart from our awesome accents and good whisky. One of these is the intricate knotwork that was carved into stones by the Picts and Celts. With two unicorns (Scotland's national animal), each morphing into knotwork at the bottom, before joining and curling around each other to form a heart and upside down triquetra before ending in a thistle, which is Scotland national flower. This design was very much inspired by my love for Scotland, the culture, and the history.
