This entire year, I have been obsessed with the symbolism attached to the crocodile. Alligator meaning and crocodile meaning talk to us about keen vision. Their pupils widen at night, allowing them better vision and they can see very well underwater, telling us that we too can see clearly through our most ambiguous dreams, and perplexing emotions. The alligator encourages us to look but not be seen.
Moreover, they are the perfect embodiment of the power of creation through destruction and how there isn't one without the other.
Hence the reptile being the representation of art itself.
