A2 Oil on Canvas This painting may be the longest I've worked on any piece. Due to time restraints, other projects and using oil paints this canvas was started in February 2019 and has taken me nearly 3 years to finally complete. At the time, my plan was to produce a series of these still life paintings pairing up alcohol bottles with their appropriate glassware and themes, but so far I've only managed to paint the two, although I must say I'm happy with the two whisky paintings I've done.

My first oil painting in a series of drink themed pieces. I am ethusiastic about the characteristics of drinks. They each have unique styles and presentation, they tell you about the person who drinks them and they make wonderful still life composition

New Coat of Paint Acrylic on Canvas This piece is the first in a series of paintings that I will be producing inspired by songs from one of my favourite albums. You can visit my Facebook page for more info on the series, but here I'll explain the concept. The scene plays out a couple stumbling drunk through a city at night. The term of paint the town is used literally here as buildings have been painted into existence behind them with the paint still running wet. All the while as they walk the path that they walk along forms shadows in the spacing of piano keys. For a more in depth description of this piece as well as a time lapse of the painting coming together, be sure to visit my social platforms.

An Ink Portrait

Another addition to my series of drinks still life paintings, this one based on the blues song of the same name. For the setup I chose a tumbler glass for the bourbon, a whisky glass for the Scotch and a classic stein glass for the beer, my preferences for drinking each of these. Unlike my previous Scotch paintings, this one was painted solely with Acrylics rather than Oils. The reason for this is firstly I've begun to use airbrush in most of my work now and I use acrylic paints for that, and secondly due to the drying time on these pieces it can usually take my a year or longer to eventually finish one, so I've begun focusing on acrylics for these now.

A2 Acrylic on Canvas I've had this still life painting on my to do list since around 2018, when I first took the reference photo. It was originally planned to be part of a larger set of paintings depicting different drinks served in their appropriate glassware alongside a bottle and within a fitting setting. Now four years later, I finally have this piece finished making it the third in this series of still lifes.

A2 Mixed Media This piece is a combination between my current painting styles, painted posters and ink portraits. I visualized this painting as a piece demonstrating the motions of the nunchaku scene in one of my favourite films. I wanted to create a piece that was almost like a pen and ink sketch drawn over a random painted background and I think the end result turned out quite well.

An ink portrait. One of my favourite musicians, I'll often listen to his work whilst I'm painting or drawing, especially his early stuff.

Going back to an old design here. A few months back I did this same piece using the original Barada quote. Now I've seen some contention that the quote may be Verata, so for your purchasing preferance, both are now available.

A group collection of my Universal Classic Monsters from my Halloween 2016 project. Featuring Nosferatu, Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, The Phantom of the Opera, The Mummy, Dracula, The Bride of Frankenstein and the Creature from the Black Lagoon. All these pieces were created using ink, watercolour paint and white acrylic paint.

A return to wildlife watercolours. From the start of this year I've been fortunate to have taken on a job where one of the daily tasks is to feed the garden's birds. This has allowed me the opportunity to capture some primary photographic reference that I've then painted from. When it comes to wildlife paintings, I like to work in watercolours because it adds a bit more of that hand painted element. Mistakes can be made and it only adds to the final product. I also worked these paintings a little more illustrative by adding in some thick outlines, cross hatching where it was welcomed and a little touch of pencils and paint pens. I've uploaded these paintings as a set, so if you like this one be sure to check out my other paintings

As a huge horror fan, I had this idea to put together a chalkboard flow chart design categorizing the most popular horror films I could think of by sub-genre. Initially the idea was to organized them by era, but as I planned out the layout sub-genre's came naturally. I couldn't include everything and there are a few places where I've had to make a judgment call on which category they fit best into, when they spread across a few different ones.

'Sick and Tired' A3 Ink It's been years since my last self portrait and I found myself in a good opportunity recently to make an up to date one. Fannie Lou Hamer famously quoted the phrase "I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired" and whilst her context for the phrase was racial equality, the phrase itself has stuck with me on my worst days. Not the same degree of brevity, but it's a good quote. Last week I was able to crack on with plenty of artwork due to being stuck in isolation with the dreaded C-19. This self portrait is a product of my isolation, kinda like the artist equivalent to "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy".

This painting depicts a memory from when myself and my friend were in our early 20s. We'd walked up to the top of a hill in our hometown through harsh weather, sat at the top overlooking the town and drunk whisky to combat the cold. A longer description can be found on my Facebook page.
