Duwata is understood as the guardian spirit of nature that casts blessings or curses to those who bring benefit or harm to nature respectively. Popular mythology states that duwata lived spread across nature in the form of a spirit. In Mongondow this figure had a giant race with a diameter or larger giant of 5 up to 6 meters. In ancient Mongondow belief 'Duwata' is also a creation of God the creator called 'Ki Ompu, Kitogi Mia'.
