The snow keeps piling up...and we are comfy inside. This image is a collage of a digital painting of Christmas Cactus and a close up photo of Jack.

When we lived on Passmore Street, in the backyard, the back garden was full of Chinese lanterns in the fall. This is one of my digital paintings of those special beings, imagining myself down in the soil as one of them.

Fall Maple Leaf

This was Jack. We called him Happy Jack because he was so..happy when he moved inside where he could be warm. He and his sister were born in an outside building. We could never coax his sister inside. I cannot recall what we called her, but I remember Alice, another feral cat. living outside with her.

Loving the Green

Even after it had snowed and melted two times, these Chinese Lanterns kept their incredibly vibrant orange colour.

Inspired by a snap shot my late husband Michael took on his dumb phone. He planted the bulbs in the forest behind his mother's house.. which is now my house. Spring has yet to arrive, it's March 1, 2023 when I am writing this updated description. It takes a longtime for the snow to melt in the spring, especially in the shade under the trees.

Lucy and Patrick were my paternal grandparents. Lucy was an artist. I used a photo of a self portrait she painted in my collage, Thinking. She was also a poet. He worked for the railroad. I never met either of them.

This week my focus was on researching universal design principles and in promoting it for the new Passmore and Chestnut streets development. I went to my neighborhood meeting with the developer, the local municipal and provincial representatives, a representative from the Prince Edward Island Council of people with disabilities and other residents from the neighborhood. I don't know if I inspired anyone but I was there and I added it to the wish list. By developing with universal design, the environment created is friendly to all people regardless of their age, ability, and social standing. I didn't stress enough, the need for this housing to be affordable, but I did stress the real need of Friends who are living with a form of physi...

It was a rainy week, and I was indoors for most of it, and tried something different. The flowers are day lilies. The background is from an artist trading card I made in 2009 on photoshop. It resurfaced as a Facebook memory from my twitwall; which was a blog by Twitter that is inactive. I brought it into artrage and used the palate knife to reshape. Wonderful experience. Didn't know what to name this piece, so am using the comment made by my artist friend Ken Cox on our 52 times, Facebook group.

Orchid A still life. Created on my iPad using artRage. It's been cloudy, cool, and wet. I was thinking of mom. The desk, owl and pot were hers. The orchid a gift from Muscular Dystrophy Canada. I painted it last year too. Love the orchid. My friend Paige names her orchids. I'm naming this one Lois:)

PEACEful in the garden. I am happy with this work. This is the third year at this time that I have spent capturing, digitally the grapevine. September is upon us, and it is beautiful here on Prince Edward Island. While perfectly content in our garden, we recently took a road trip, through Evangeline, and saw the sun sparkling on Egmont Bay. This week is our 10th wedding anniversary, and our dear Amanda starts at UPEI. If you like my work, this would be a good time to buy it!

Can you spot Bob? :) This is the street where we live. I wanted to document these houses. They are to be redeveloped.

This is the original of the two chive paintings. after I finished this, I realized that the flowers were not purple which the real life chive flowers were, so I added purple to the painting. Love both versions...

Honouring of beloved Bourban

It’s so pretty I think back to when I spent the week painting her on my iPad. We were used to spending time beside each other. I think I used the iPastel app. Which had low dpi. It’s one of my favourite paintings of the Geranium.
