Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain was a college professor, turned bad-ass Northern General during the American Civil War. He commanded the 20th Maine Regiment at the Battle of Gettysburg. His regiment's valiant defense of Little Round Top during this battle was instrumental in the Northern Victory. For his daring heroism Chamberlain was awarded the Medal of Honor.
