An acrylic painting 16 x 16" sold in 2011. This kooky kollection of kandinskyesque kats was inspired by his 'Composition' series of paintings. Or should I say 'Komposition?'
While I was painting this decorative orchard scene, I was suddenly reminded of those Ishihara 'pseudoisochromatic' tests they used to do at school to test for colour blindness, hence the name.

The beginning of a new series of coastal based pieces for 2016. Being pretty much as far away from the sea as you can get in England, this piece represents my love of the coast and my rare visits there, coupled with my love of decorative, Art Nouveau based work.
Another painting that sold in 2011. Yet more trees inspired by Klimt and other decorative artists such as Zecchin, Beardlsey and, to some degree, by children's book illustrator, the mighty Maurice Sendak, one of my all time favourite artists.

A large commission for a family living in Walthamstow, London, recorded as Wilcumstowe in 1075 and , in the Doomsday Book of 1086, Wilcumestou, meaning 'The place of welcome'.
Everyone has a London painting in them, and this is mine. I love the London scenes painted by Andre Derain, so this was my little 'Fauvist' nod to him.

This is an original acrylic painting measuring 24 x 16 inches that I sold in 2011. I became slightly obsessed with Gustav Klimt's frieze designs for The Palais Stoclet in Brussels after seeing some of his other work at The Tate Liverpool back in 2009. I particularly like the central image, the Tree of Life, so decided to do something influenced by that. Trees are also a bit of an obsession for me! I called it Zebedee Tree because, for some reason, it reminds me of The Magic Roundabout.
