A digital coloured pencil drawing of the Ribblehead Viaduct as crosses Batty Moss in the Ribble Valley, North Yorkshire carrying the Settle-Carlisle line. It sits just south of Whernside, the highest peak in Yorkshire, the lower slopes visible in the background. This amazing construction was designed by the Midland Railway's Chief Engineer, John Sydney Crossley. The last stone was laid by the end of 1874, and on 1st May 1876 the whole line opened for passenger traffic.
