The Cromford Canal ran 14.5 miles (23.3 kilometres) from Cromford to the Erewash Canal in Derbyshire, England with a branch to Pinxton. Built by William Jessop with the assistance of Benjamin Outram, its alignment included four tunnels and 14 locks and was completed in 1794. Today, it is partially navigable and partially derelict. The parts that are still navigable are lovely to walk beside, and it is one of these sections that I have depicted here. This is a picture executed in Staedtler karat aquarell watercolour pencil on A3 vif Art watercolour paper.

A watercolour of the historic Breadsall Priory in my home county of Derbyshire, England. The first buildings here date back to the 13th Century. The priory is now a hotel and famous for its beautiful gardens.

For hundreds of years Matlock Bath has been a very popular destination for day trippers in UK and visitors to the world famous Peak District. This is an original acrylic painting on canvas board to create a range of products that conjure up the magic of this wonderful place.

In 2011, the town had a population of 76,753. It has been traced to a transitory Roman fort of the 1st century CE. The name of the later Anglo-Saxon village comes from the Old English ceaster and feld. It has a sizeable street market three days a week.

Find a bargain at one of the UK's largest flea markets in this lovely city hidden in the Peak District of the UK. I converted this to black and white to accentuate the clouds and the dynamic range. Perfect for a jigsaw puzzle, print or apparel.

It lies in the Peak District, south of Matlock on the main A6 road, and approximately halfway between Buxton and Derby. This stunning little place is a Mecca for bikers on a weekend and Bank Holidays, so get there early. This will make a fantastic jigsaw puzzle for those wanting a challenge.
