The Reading Company was a Philadelphia-headquartered railroad that provided passenger and commercial rail transport in eastern Pennsylvania and neighboring states that operated from 1924 until its 1976 acquisition by Conrail.

43106 is the only surviving example of an LMS Ivatt Class 4 Mogul (2-6-0 wheel arrangement). The locomotive was designed by H.G. Ivatt for medium freight work but was also used on passenger services. BR classified them as 4MT (MT for Mixed Traffic). This locomotive entered service in April 1951 and officially withdrawn from service in June 1968. 43106 can be seen on the Severn Valley Railway and is photographed here approaching Arley Station.
