The 44th Medical Brigade deployed to Vietnam in April 1966, where it participated in 15 of the 17 campaigns in which US Forces were involved. These campaigns included Counteroffensives Phase I-VII, Tet Counteroffensive, Tet 69 Counteroffensive, Summer-Fall 69, Winter-Spring 70, Sanctuary Counteroffensive, Consolidation I and II, and Cease Fire. The 3d Maneuver Enhancement Brigade (3d MEB) was a United States Army brigade located at Fort Richardson, Alaska. The 3d MEB was one of three active duty Maneuver Enhancement Brigades. The Brigade was tasked to improve the movement capabilities and rear area security for commanders at division level or higher. It was inactivated in 2011 and replaced by the 2d Engineer Brigade.

The 44th Medical Brigade was reactivated on 21 September 1974 at Fort Bragg. On 16 July 1993, the 44th Medical Brigade became a separate Major Subordinate Command reporting directly to the XVIII Corps with a General Officer commanding.

The173rd Abn Brigade had assumed the mission of "pacification" of the Bong Son plains Company N (Ranger), 75th Infantry would become a Ranger screen while the Brigade was on pacification. The TO&E specified that the November Rangers would consist of 3 officers and 72 enlisted personnel. The 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division ("Devil Brigade") is the oldest permanent brigade in the United States Army and has some of the oldest units in the United States Army. HHC, 1st Brigade served in World War I, Vietnam, Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
