How "Sherlock Holmes" came to be written for the stagetheatre is an interesting story. Curiously enough, it was not at the suggestion of Dr. Conan Doyle, Mr. William Gillette, or Mr. Charles Frohman, who is Mr. Gillette's manager, but through the inventive genius of an American reporter. This enterprising individual wrote a paragraph to the effect that Conan Doyle had stated that should anyone ever dramatize Sherlock Holmes it would be William Gillette.

The Emerald Archer enjoyed moderate success in his early years, becoming the cover feature of More Fun, as well as having occasional appearances in other comics. Throughout his first twenty-five years, however, the character never enjoyed greater popularity. In the late 1960s, writer Denny O'Neil, inspired by the character's dramatic visual redesign by Neal Adams, chose to have him lose his fortune, giving him the then-unique role of a streetwise crusader for the working class and the disadvantaged. In 1970, he was paired with a more law and order-oriented hero, Since then, he has been popular among comic book fans and most writers have taken an urban, gritty approach to the character.

The sleuth of Baker Street is timeless. It has been over 100 years since the first story featuring Holmes was published in 1887's A Study in Scarlet. The character and stories have had a profound and lasting effect on mystery writing and popular culture as a whole. We love to revisit the old stories just as much (if not more) than we like coming up with new stories. We love translating Sherlock Holmes into every medium we’ve had in that span theater, radio, movies, TV, comics, everything. Holmes has been at home on television since 1950. As television has changed, we have come up with a Holmes for that era. my favorite superhero. for a very long time before I got interested in the current Batman series. progressed, I’ve grown to the hero of the 50's television series, because when you look at face value of Clark Kent, he seems like an average everyday person, but when you actually delve into his character, you see that he is a lot more than just an alien with superpowers. Superman stories focus on lots of things, like moral dilemmas, family, friendship, romance, politics, war, and many other topics.
