A spin-off of Happy Days, the sitcom Laverne & Shirley followed the lives of Laverne DeFazio and Shirley Feeney, two friends and roommates who work as bottle-cappers in the fictitious Shotz Brewery in late '50s Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Shotz is said to be a nod to Schlitz, the Milwaukee brewery that was founded in 1849. The Laverne & Shirley series ran for eight seasons January 27, 1976, to May 10, 1983.

Ojibwe Native American petition. Artwork of the birch bark petition presented by Native Americans of the Ojibwe Tribe to US President Fillmore in 1849. The lines in the image unify the hearts and minds of the figures, confirming the authority of the delegation to speak for the Lake Superior Clans. The delegation is lead by Chief Buffalo of the Crane Clan. He is supported by a group of headmen represented by the totem of their clan: the catfish, man-fish, bear and three martens. Highland Cattle are a Scottish cattle breed. They are adapted to the cold weather and stay outside throughout the year. We have been raising these fluffy cows since 2007 on our farm in Finland.

I could see they were happy to see us flying overhead and decided to land in the center of the village. Chief Wanakuka and his wife, Lanacua ran down the balcony to greet us. They were amazed to see all of us flying upon Polly. She was a hit among the Kakuna and a large crowd gathered to admire her. Polly, of course, loved every minute of it. Luckenbach Texas Post Office by Debra Martz Luckenbach, Texas is an unincorporated community just a 10 mile drive from the popular tourist town of Fredericksburg (which originated as a German community) in the Texas Hill Country. Luckenbach is known as a great venue for country music. It consists of 9.1 acres situated between 2 creeks. Its oldest building is a combination country general store and a saloon which opened in 1849. It is stated that the first name was Grape Creek but more than likely Gap Creek which comes from German ("lucken" meaning gap and "bach" meaning stream). We were halfway up the steps that led into the Sourdough Saloon when we were pushed back by four cowboys that were busy throwing a helpless citizen into the street. "'Stay out and don't come back!" said one of them as he tossed his hat into the muddy street. We helped him to his feet and handed him his hat. "Thank you, little girl. I'm Will Endicott. I'm going to git my gun and come back here."
