A beautiful golden winter sunrise off the coast of Northumberland. The image was taken on the stretch of beach between Blyth and Seaton Sluice in late October looking south towards St Mary's Island which can be spotted on the horizon together with a passing tanker. The sun is partially hidden behind cloud, but is beautifully reflected in the wet sand and the waters of the North Sea.

The 2016 Tall Ships Regatta gathered at the Port of Blyth in Northumberland for the first time in its sixty years of existence. Each night there was a fireworks display over the river and this image has caught the silhouette of a ship against the background of the fireworks with a crew member standing in the rigging and spotlights lighting up the evening sky and the Crows Nest on another mast.

Waterlily on an old reservoir near Blyth in Northumberland in the North East of England, reflected beautifully on the still, mirror like water. The elegant flowers themselves look as if they are illuminated by the sunshine.
