Saint Brigids Cross! An ancient tradition that occurs midway between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. It marks the beginning of the spring and is one of four cross quarter day festivals that were spread between the winter solstice, spring equinox, summer solstice and autumn equinox.

I shall go into a hare, with sorrow and such meikle care. The words on this design are of a Scottish witch called Isobel Gowdie. Witches were often believed to be able to transform into hares, cats and other animals to revel or cause mischief. This design is made with love for all those who practice and all those who paid dearly for their beliefs in days gone by.
