British Rail Class 52 Locomotive Posters and Art Prints

Here we have a photograph of London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) Thompson Class B1 number 1264 photographed in the autumn on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway with a rake of Crimson Lake & Cream coaches.

British Railways diesel-hydraulic Warship Class 42 locomotives entered service in 1958. Pictured here is "Onslaught" number D832 on a guest appearance at the Dean Forest Railway in Gloucestershire.

Here we have a photograph of British Railways Standard Class 4MT steam locomotive number 76079 photographed in the autumn on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway with a rake of British Rail red coaches. This class of locomotive was designed for mixed traffic and would have been seen pulling either freight or passenger coaches.

It could be 1965! A class 25 Sulzer Bo Bo in British Railways two tone green livery, pulls a rake of BR red coaches through lush green moorland in Yorkshire. BR Class 25 D7628 built by Beyer Peacock in Manchester in 1965 and named Sybilla in preservation is the locomotive in the photograph seen here on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

A black and white image of BR Standard Class 7 number 70013 Oliver Cromwell running as the "Red Dragon". The Red Dragon was an express passenger train between London Paddington and Swansea in Wales. The 720 indicates this is the "Up" train, IE the return to London. The BR Standard Class 7, otherwise known as the Britannia Class, is a class of 4-6-2 Pacific steam locomotive designed for mixed traffic duties.

The GWR 5700 Class, or 57xx class, was a class of 0-6-0 pannier tank steam locomotive, built by the Great Western Railway (GWR) and British Railways (BR) between 1929 and 1950. With 863 built, they were the most prolific class of the GWR, and one of the most numerous classes of British steam locomotive. Converted from a photo taken at the National Railway Museum in York, UK in 2014

The Class 47 was built in Loughborough by Brush Traction between 1962 and 1968. I've drawn it in Sector livery which some members of the class would have carried in the 1980s.

A black and white image of BR Fairburn 4MT No. 42073 at Lakeside Railway Station, Windermere in the English Lake District. This Locomotive is on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway at the southern end of Lake Windermere, running along the Leven Valley. Only two Fairburn 4MT Locomotives have survived into preservation and they are both based on this railway!

A black and white image of Princess Coronation Class 6233 Duchess of Sutherland steam locomotive built in 1938 for the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS). It was built for express passenger services, including the Royal Scot service between London and Glasgow. It was retired from British Railways in 1964 and was saved from being scrapped by Billy Butlin who displayed it at the Heads-of-Ayr holiday camp in Scotland. It's now fully restored in LMS "Crimson Lake" and photographed here on the Severn Valley Railway at Highley Station in Shropshire, England.

The standard class 7 is also known as the Britannia Class as Britannia was the first engine of 55 in this class.
